Reflecting on 2023: A Year of Artistic Discovery and Dreams for 2024

As the final hours of 2023 tick away, I find myself immersed in reflection, contemplating the canvas of the year that was—an artistic journey filled with inspiration, challenges, and the promise of dreams yet to be realized.

My initial goal of painting 60 portraits for my portfolio was ambitious, and as the year concludes, I stand at 40 completed works. Each stroke, each hue, represents a step in my evolution as an artist. Not all paintings met my expectations, but they are a testament to the pursuit of growth and pushing the boundaries of my skills.

A Creative Awakening: Drawing Inspiration from Japan

My firs studio Painting

Creatively, 2023 has been a revelation, a year where I found profound inspiration during my travels through the enchanting landscapes of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. In the heart of Japan, I discovered a new lens through which to view portraiture—moving away from the allure of "famous people" to delve into the rich tapestry of unique and emotionally resonant oil portraits.

A Pilgrimage to Artistic Roots: Van Gogh's Self-Portrait

A defining moment of the year occurred in the hallowed halls of the D'Orsay Museum in Paris. Face to face with Van Gogh's self-portrait, I was overcome with emotion. Witnessing a masterpiece created years ago stirred a profound sense of purpose. The desire to leave a lasting mark on the world through art ignited within me, fueled by the timeless legacy of a universally acclaimed artist.

Dreams for 2024: From Aspiration to Exhibition

As I gaze into the horizon of 2024, I envision a year of unparalleled artistic achievements. My aspirations transcend numerical targets; I seek to make every portrait count, to weave a narrative that tells not only the stories of my subjects but also the story of my own artistic journey.

In the coming year, I aspire to transform from an artist known through social media to a stablished figure in the art world. The canvas of 2024 holds the promise of my first exhibition, applications to prestigious portrait art prizes, and a deep dive into the rich tapestry of the art community.

A New Chapter: Creating Meaningful Art

While I won't fixate on a specific quantity of portraits, my focus will be on creating pieces that resonate, that tell a story, and that contribute to the legacy I wish to build as an artist. The coming year is not just about the brushstrokes but about crafting a narrative—a narrative that will define not only my art but also the artist behind it.

As the clock strikes midnight, I extend my heartfelt wishes to all for an extraordinary 2024. Thank you for being a part of this artistic journey, and here's to dreams unfolding on the canvas of the new year.

Wishing you a prosperous and art-filled 2024!
