With each brushstroke, I sought to capture the essence of the Sumo Wrestler's spirit, drawing inspiration from my journey to Japan in March 2023.
While I did not have the opportunity to witness the mesmerizing rituals and fierce battles of Sumo Wrestlers firsthand, my immersion in Japanese culture left an indelible mark on my artistic vision. After watching the Netflix TV series "The Sanctuary," I became enthralled by the intricate details of the Sumo Wrestler's way of life, the clash of tradition and modernity, and the profound dedication and sacrifice underlying their relentless pursuit of excellence.
