What Have you done?
In my first blog post of 2024, I'm thrilled to share one of my favorite paintings from the past year, a 50x40 cm oil portrait titled 'What Have You Done?' This piece holds a special place in my heart as it signifies continuous growth in my artistic journey.
The painting features a wise figure, head held high, gazing intensely at the viewer, prompting a thought-provoking question: What have we done? The subject, dressed in a dark blue suit with an orange and red tie and shirt resembling flames, carries a message that goes beyond aesthetics. The pure baby blue background accentuates the urgency and purity of the message.
This project is part of my broader exploration into creating portraits that evoke contemplation. 'What Have You Done?' is a poignant callout to our relationship with nature and the impact of human actions on the climate. The symbolism of the fiery colors against the serene blue backdrop challenges viewers to ponder the consequences of our collective choices.
As an artist, I find joy in not only honing my skills but also in using my art as a means of communication. 'What Have You Done?' is more than a painting; it's an invitation to reflect on our responsibilities towards the planet. Let's continue this artistic journey together, where each stroke carries a message and every portrait tells a story.
Stay tuned for more explorations, reflections, and artful expressions in 2024. Let's make this year a canvas of meaningful creations!
