Navigating February: A Quest for Artistic Growth and Exploration

Painting process

As February unfolds, I find myself amidst a tapestry of aspirations and reflections. The commencement of the Year of the Dragon brings with it promises of accomplishment, particularly for Sagittarians like myself. Yet, as I embark on this journey, I am confronted with the reality of my artistic pursuit and the transformative path that lies ahead.

This year marks a pivotal moment in my artistic trajectory, one characterized by a deep-seated desire to venture into the realm of galleries and craft pieces imbued with profound meaning. Despite the allure of social media and its incessant demand for fresh content, I am resolved to focus on the art itself, eschewing the pressures of instant validation.

Admittedly, the journey has been fraught with challenges. The disparity between the labor invested in my creations and their limited visibility leaves me grappling with a sense of frustration. Yet, within this frustration lies an opportunity for growth—a chance to experiment with different mediums and presentation formats, unfettered by the constraints of online metrics.

Amidst my ambitions for the year, one project stands out—a sprawling oil painting depicting two friends, one Portuguese and the other Japanese, each symbolizing a facet of my own identity. With headphones adorning one and a camera in the hands of the other, they stand against a backdrop inspired by the sanctuary of my own home. This painting, reminiscent of a self-portrait in the making, serves as a testament to my evolving artistic vision.

As February unfolds, I find myself at the precipice of three significant projects, each beckoning me to explore new vistas and pose questions that resonate deeply within. While January may have yielded just one portrait, I take solace in the realization that true growth lies not in quantity, but in the depth of artistic expression.

In the crucible of February, I forge ahead, guided by a commitment to quality, introspection, and the unwavering pursuit of artistic evolution.
